2011 Overhaul
I've decided that I needed to overhaul the family blog....with some encouragement from Mom.
Things in our economy and in the world are forever changing. We have been counseled by the General Authorities for quite some time, that we need to be prepared for whatever comes our way. Whether it be a national disaster or an individual one, it is better for us to be financially, spiritually and physically prepared for what may come our way.
My plan is to use our family blog to put hints and tips, of the little things that we could do every month, to help prepare us for whatever should come. These are just ideas, you can do some, all or none of the things suggested. I would hope that there would also be input from all of you as well. Please don't hesitate to either comment on the blog....or send me an email and I will put your thoughts on.
So....for the Month of January:
"Let every head of household see to it that he has on hand enough food and clothing and; where possible, fuel also for at least a year ahead..." J. Reuben Clark, 1937
SPIRITUAL GOAL: Hold Family Home Evening every Monday for the Month.
PROVIDENT LIVING GOAL:
Review your retirement goals. Are you putting enough aside to be able to support yourselves and do the things you want to when you retire?
Change your batteries in your smoke alarms.
STORAGE GOAL:
24 cans of meat or fish per person
Can opener
1 Gallon of bleach per person
Laundry detergent
72 HOUR KIT:
*Gather a change of clothing, including underwear and shoes, for each family member.
*Include warm coats and boots (or have them immediately accessible).
*$25 cash
*$5 in cash for phone
*Ax, shovel and bucket
*Utility knife
*Wet stone

UofU Concert
Jessie will be singing this Friday, October 30 with the Acapella Choir at Libby Gardner Hall (located in President's Circle at the "U") at 7:30. Their concerts are always really good. About 1 to 1 1/2 hours long. Cost is usually about $7.50 unless you let her know ahead of time and she can get tickets from the students for $4.

Dehydrater
We were lucky enough to get a new dehydrater with our tax return and have an old one that works really well. If anyone is interested let me know.
